LeAnn Rimes has received a lot of heat for the bikini snaps she’s been posting of herself on Twitter lately, with many fans worried she may have taken her diet to the extreme—or worse.

“People are calling me bulimic or anorexic,” a frustrated Rimes told People magazine. “These are real issues and diseases—that I don’t have.”

The country cutie is determined to show fans that she’s not ill—just uber-healthy—with some help from her fitness trainer, Michael Jackson.

“I know it really bothers her,” Jackson told “A lot of people see pictures of LeAnn and assume certain things. But we’re in the process of putting a video together that she’ll post to her blog so that people will see what it is that we’re doing to get her in shape. It’ll probably go live sometime next month—we haven’t set an exact date. I know she’s really anxious to show people—excuse my French—that she takes her s**t seriously.”

Jackson said he has been working with Rimes for about 10 months.

“With LeAnn, the one thing I do is boxing—it’s all about boxing,” said Jackson. “ We use hand mitts and boxing gloves.”

Rimes sees boxing as a chance to work out her frustrations. “Going to the gym and punching out some of my aggression on a pair of mitts has been a lifesaver,” Rimes told Shape magazine last year. “I’ll walk into the gym and say to my trainer, ‘We’re doing a boxing workout today… I need to hit things.’”

Jackson, who works out of the Equinox Gym in Woodland Hills, CA, told that Rimes usually visits the gym 3-4 times a week for an hour-and-a-half session.

“For a typical workout, we warm up with about five to 10 minutes of jump rope,” Jackson explained. “Then, we’ll get going with some light, dynamic stretching. But LeAnn usually likes to start boxing first. When she comes into the gym, she’s usually just gotten off a plane and she needs to work some stuff out, so we’ll do some boxing, using traditional boxing techniques. We’ll also work on the core, legs and hips. We do arms more than anything. I know a lot of people think boxing is just punching, but proper technique involves working out the quads, butt, back and core—things a lot of women like to work on.”

But it’s not all Mike Tyson moves for Rimes. “After boxing, we’ll do some strength training, which consists of a core workout,” Jackson said. “We’ll have our days where we’ll do core, we’ll have our days where we’ll do legs and upper body. That’ll consist of lunges, lunges with weights and squats. For core work, we’ll use a cable machine. Then, we’ll end with some stretches. It’s not anything light.”

Jackson also monitors what Rimes eats. “Every week, I give her a meal plan,” he said. “We’re always back and forth on Twitter—if she can’t get to her computer, she’ll email or text message me—I make it as convenient as possible.”

Rimes tries to eat all natural and unprocessed food. “She eats a lot of lean meats—fish, chicken—maybe on occasion, lean turkey,” explained Jackson. “A lot of vegetables—broccoli, carrots and asparagus. And I try to have LeAnn eat some fruit like oranges or apples before 3 o’clock. The reason for that is because fruits contain a lot of sugar, and sugar metabolizes into carbs, so I try to have her eat that before she really gets active. Fruits are a good source energy—much better than energy drinks.”

LeAnn is allowed to cheat—but just one meal a week! “Not a cheat day—but a cheat meal,” said Jackson. She might have some macaroni, but that’s small, minor stuff. With LeAnn, it’s more of a lifestyle. When you start to really see results, you don’t want to go overboard on cheat meals. LeAnn is pretty disciplined. She might go out for dinner with her husband, or something like that, but even then, she’s very aware of what’s on the menu.”

Jackson wants people to understand that Rimes has worked hard for her lean physique. “She’s really focused, and I think that’s what a lot of people don’t see—all the hard work and dedication that she’s put in,” he said. “(Her weight) is not an issue—this is (a result of) her lifestyle.”
