  • Celebrity Trend: Tori Spelling latest to show off pregnant bikini bump

Nothing can keep a good bikini babe down—not even the third trimester of pregnancy!

The usually lithe and lean Tori Spelling strutted down the beach in Malibu on Memorial Day, sporting a bountiful baby bump—her third child with Dean McDermott due later this year.

“She looks great!” celebrity stylist Elle Werlin tells “Often in the past, Tori has been accused of being too skinny, so it’s great to see her showing off her pregnancy with confidence—she looks like a beautiful, normal pregnant woman.”

Other stars sporting the bikini baby bump this summer include Jessica Alba, who donned a two-piece while sunning in Cabo San Lucas last month, rocker Pink, who is expecting her first child with motor cross racer Carey Hart any minute now, and Kate Hudson, who brought her hippy chic aesthetic to the baby bump trend, pairing her white bikini with an Indian paisley sarong and bold necklace.

“It’s all about pride and confidence,” Werlin explains. “It’s also about comfort. It’s a beautiful time in a woman’s life—why not show it off?”

While it may seem that the proliferation of bikini baby bumps this summer is a recent trend, Princess Diana scandalized royal watchers when she wore a blue bikini in the Bahamas while pregnant with Prince William—more than 25 years ago.

“Diana was definitely was a trendsetter,” says Werlin of Diana’s daring bikini bump. “She had a gorgeous figure, and I’m not surprised that she was one of the first. These days, it’s too much about people being ultra-thin in a bikini, and it’s nice to see women enjoying their curves—pregnant or not.”
