  • Marines take on Army and Britney Spears with YouTube hit

War zones seem to be a breeding ground for musical creativity these days.

Almost a year to the day after soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division stationed in Afghanistan created a video homage to Lady Gaga with their lip-synched version of “Telephone,” men and women from the Marines’ 266 Rein and HMLA 169 in Afghanistan have answered the Army with their own video: A lip-synching tour de force of Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me.”

Dressed in desert fatigues, about a dozen Marines “somewhere deep in the heart of Afghanistan” shamelessly shake their hips, pose and pout as they mime to lyrics like, “If I told you that I want your body now, would hold it against me?”

Some choice scenes include a workout session with some heavily tattooed soldiers, Marines dancing with glow sticks, a saucy jumpsuit striptease and a sexy serenade from the back of a moving tank.

The video has been viewed over 150,000 times on YouTube, and even Britney Spears herself has raved about the Marines’ take on her hit.

“I am in LOVE with this,” Spears Tweeted late Thursday. “I always knew our soldiers were fierce! Thanks for everything you guys do… -Britney”
