  'American Idol' finalist Stefano Langone's DUI arrest revealed

  In keeping with the fine tradition of “American Idol” finalists having rap sheets, Star magazine has unearthed 22-year old Stefano Langone’s 2010 DUI arrest.

  The cute crooner, who has charmed viewers with his soulful renditions of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye hits, confessed in an emotional interview about how he narrowly escaped death in a car crash caused by a drunk driver on May 28, 2009.

  “I was in an accident that changed my life, unfortunately, for the worse,” said Langone. “I woke up to a firefighter—and I’ll never forget—he looked down at me and he screamed to the EMTs, ‘He’s alive! He’s alive!’ They told me that I would never be able to walk the same.”

  The accident left Stefano deeply scarred with two broken arms and a fractured pelvis.

  What Stefano failed to reveal in that interview was that he was arrested a year later—for driving under the influence.

  Tom Hanks to play heroic captain Richard Phillips

  Tom Hanks, who received an Oscar-nomination for playing a man stranded on a deserted South Pacific island in 2000’s “Cast Away,” will return to the high seas when he takes on the role of Richard Phillips, the captain of the Maersk Alabama cargo ship who sacrificed himself to Somali pirates to save his crew.

  On April 8, 2009, four pirates attacked the cargo ship, and took Captain Phillips hostage in a small lifeboat with nine days of food rations. Four days into his ordeal, Captain Phillips was rescued by U.S. Navy SEALs after they killed three of his captors.

  Arriving back safely on U.S. soil, Phillips was honored by President Obama. “”I share the country’s admiration for the bravery of Captain Phillips and his selfless concern for his crew,” Obama said. “His courage is a model for all Americans.”

  The pop diva appears on the April cover of the magazine with a photo spread by Annie Leibovitz, where she openly discusses her music, her famous sense of style and her personal life.

  Most surprising was her confession about her father’s recent betrayal, when he shared personal (and, according to her, inaccurate) details about her life to the press.

  Kanye West's ex Amber Rose says she was a stripper at age 15

  Kanye West’s former girlfriend Amber Rose was with him the night he took the stage, and the microphone, away from Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

  Throughout the ensuing media maelstrom, she didn’t utter a peep.

  But now that she and West have split, Rose is talking – big time.

  The close cropped bleach blond babe went on Jamie Foxx’s Foxxhole Radio on Sirius this week and clued people in on her wild child past.

  The Mexican-American beauty says her split from NBA star Tony Parker has been a difficult process, but she is moving on.

  “I’m kind of having to find new patterns because I’m not used to having – I’m used to always being on a plane and flying to a basketball game,” she said. “It’s been – every time I talk about it, I want to cry. It’s been hard. Very hard. I’m just trying to get through as gracefully as possible without any drama.”

  Wayward tween icon Miley Cyrus has given her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, another reason to be concerned.

  A dazed looking 18-year old Cyrus was snapped arriving at West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont around 1am on March 12, unsteady on her feet. At one point, according to onlookers, friends were holding on to Cyrus to prevent her from falling into the street.

  Cyrus and her pals partied at the infamous nightspot until 3am, when she and her crew made their exit out the back.

  “I’m scared for her,” dad Billy Ray Cyrus told GQ magazine earlier this month. “She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger. I know she’s 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I’d like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute. When you go through what she’s been through, it takes a beating on you.”

  Usher may have a sex tape being shopped, ex-wife is not pleased

  Justin Bieber may be getting pointers on how to croon soulfully from Usher, but hopefully that’s all the teen pop star is learning from his mentor.

  TMZ is reporting that a sex tape starring the R & B megastar is being shopped around. TMZ claims that the tape features Usher, AKA Usher Raymond IV, in a naughty romp with his then-wife Tameka Foster.

  Usher claimed that a million dollars in valuables, including two laptops, were stolen from his SUV in Atlanta last December. According to TMZ, sources close to Usher claim that it’s possible the tape was in the SUV at the time of the robbery.

  Kid Rock to receive NAACP award despite using Confederate flag in stage shows

  The Confederate flag ignites strong emotions, whether it’s a painful reminder of slavery, pride in Southern heritage, or memories of good ol’ times drinking whiskey on the back porch.

  For Detroiter Kid Rock, it ignites the latter emotion, which is why he says he uses it in his stage show.

  Which is also why several members of the NAACP are boycotting the Freedom Fund Dinner in May, where Rock is schedule to receive the Great Expectations Award.

  “It’s a slap in the face for anyone who fought for civil rights in this country,” Adolph Mongo, leader of Detroiters for Progress, said last week. “It’s a symbol of hatred and bigotry.”

  The leader of the Detroit chapter of the NAACP, Donnell R. White, disagrees, or at least finds that Kid Rock’s commitment to the people Detroit outweighs any fondness he has for the Dixie flag.
