  • Britney Spears sells out in in her new video for 'Hold It Against Me'

Britney Spears' 'Hold It Against Me.'

    Ka-CHING!

Britney Spears is raking it in with some very obvious product placements in her new video, “Hold it Against Me.”

The pop tart is pushing her new fragrance, Radiance by Britney Spears—shamelessly spritzing it on herself after a close-up shot of the product’s label.

Professional makeup line Make Up Forever also gets a shout out, as Spears liberally applies beige cream eye shadow after a gratuitous product shot.

Electronics giant Sony gets some love in the form of having their computer and television monitors sprayed with silly string.

“Hold it Against Me” was directed by Jonas Akerlund, the man responsible for Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” video. “Telephone” infamously featured at least nine different product placements, ranging from Miracle Whip to Polaroid.

Both “Telephone” and “Hold it Against Me” prominently feature Internet dating site Plenty of Fish.

The integration of Plenty of Fish, along with the other branded products in Spears’ video, is clunky and obvious when compared with Gaga’s spin. Spears is randomly searching for a generic pretty boy on the site in her video, while Lady Gaga’s butch prison guard is using Plenty of Fish to look for love.

In any case, Plenty of Fish is sure to see a spike in traffic now that it has Britney Spears’ seal of approval. The site saw a 15%  percent increase in searches after Lady Gaga’s video debuted.
