  • Bye bye, tiara. Olivia Wilde and prince husband split

Maybe she didn’t kiss enough frogs.

“House” and “Tron” star Olivia Wilde and her husband, Italian prince Tao Ruspoli, have mutually agreed to separate after eight years of marriage, People magazine reports.

A source tells the magazine, “They have been living apart after trying for quite some time to make their relationship work.”

Many surrounding the couple had reservations about the union.

“There were times when people thought it would really hurt me,” Wilde told GQ of her young marriage back in 2009. “People said I shouldn’t be married, or lie about being married, or I should be married to a movie star or rock star.”

Wilde’s fairytale romance began when she was swept off her feet by the filmmaker and flamenco guitarist when she was only 19.

The pair eloped on June 7, 2003 on a school bus in Virginia with just two witnesses.

Wilde revealed doubts about the marriage in an interview with Men’s Health last month.

“Even in the beginning, we never put pressure on ourselves,” she told the magazine. “We were, like, ‘Maybe it’ll last a week.’ And therefore it’s lasted years.”

Well, it lasted almost a decade—an eternity by Hollywood standards.
