  • Lindsay Lohan deemed too high a risk for 'Inferno' producers

Lindsay Lohan is officially out of “Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story.”

The actress, who is currently in court-ordered rehab, has been replaced by 32-year-old “Watchmen” star Malin Akerman, reports.

“Inferno” director Matthew Wilder told E! Online that his team was forced to move on from Lohan, as she works on her sobriety at the Betty Ford clinic in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

“We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time and with a lot of love and support … Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her, and some other issues, have made it impossible for us to go forward.”

Lohan, 24, was cast in the film before failing a drug test in September. She was then ordered to rehab until January 3.

Her rep confirmed to PopEater, “Lindsay is dedicated to her recovery and together they decided to move forward without her.”

After releasing several promotional materials of Lohan as Linda Lovelace, it was widely reported that she was looking to revive her career with the role. Lohan has not headlined a film since 2007’s “I Know Who Killed Me.”

Akerman has appeared in “27 Dresses” and “Couples Retreat.” Her upcoming projects include “Wanderlust” with Jennifer Aniston, “The Bang Bang Club” with Ryan Philippe and “The Numbers Station” with Ethan Hawke.

On Wilder’s Facebook page, he wrote, “We are so honored to have Malin and know that she will kill it.”
