  • Bill Clinton to make cameo in 'Hangover 2,' report says

President Bill Clinton – movie star?

Clinton has apparently filmed a cameo appearance in “The Hangover 2,” People magazine reports.

Sources tell the celebrity magazine that Clinton will appear as himself in the highly-anticipated comedy, due out in 2011.

He reportedly shot the cameo on Saturday in Bangkok, where he was delivering a speech on clean energy.

“The Hangover 2” has been in the news for several weeks, all stemming back to cameo issues.

Troubled actor Mel Gibson was originally hired to play a tattoo artist in the film, but was reportedly dropped in light of his recent troubles with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. The cast, said to be led by Zach Galifianakis, was reportedly uncomfortable working with Gibson and protested until he was let go the day before he was set to shoot.

Actor Liam Neeson was hired to replace Gibson in a move that reportedly enraged Gibson, whom insiders said felt that if convicted-rapist Mike Tyson deserved a comeback cameo in the first film, he should too.

Still, Neeson told Access Hollywood that Mel was “cool” about him taking over the role.

“We’re all cool,” he said. “Mel and I did a movie about 20 or 25 years ago. It was a long time ago, so we know each other.”

Tyson’s cameo, where he appeared alongside his own Tiger, was widely described as his comeback role, despite the fact that he told ESPN Radio earlier this year that he filmed the cameo to supply his drug habit. He admitted to the radio station that he didn’t expect the film to be such an “international success.”

Tyson later said he gave up drugs and became a vegan after the accidental death of his 4-year-old daughter.

But while Clinton is certainly a less controversial choice, the cameo will no doubt generate a significant buzz for the former president and the film itself.
