  Snooki gets political over Obama tax plan

  “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is getting into politics.

  The pint-sized reality star voiced her disappointment in Obama’s tax plan, saying John McCain wouldn’t have done that.

  “I don’t go tanning anymore because Obama put a 10 percent tax on tanning … And I feel like he did that intentionally for us,” Snooki said in the Season 2 preview, before her boyfriend spritzed her with a fake tan spray.

  “McCain would never put a ten percent tax on tanning, because he’s pale and probably would want to be tan,” she added.

  And it seems the Arizona senator was paying attention. He Tweeted to Snooki “ur right, I would never tax your tanning bed. O’s tax policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!”

  The new season of “Jersey Shore” premieres July 29.

  Tom Cruise to star in Les Grossman film

  Tom Cruise is bringing his foul-mouthed, hairy-handed Hollywood producer character Les Grossman back to the big screen.

  Paramount Pictures and MTV Films say they’re developing a film around the fictional character that Cruise brought to life in 2008’s “Tropic Thunder.”

  The 47-year-old actor reprised the role at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards.

  Cruise and Ben Stiller are among the producers of the film. Paramount said Wednesday that Cruise is in talks to play Grossman.

  Cruise can next be seen on screen in “Knight and Day,” due in theaters later this month.

  'So You Think You Can Dance' announces Top 11

  They told us there were only going to be 10 finalists this season… and they lied.

  “So You Think You Can Dance” made room for an 11th contestant this year, as six of the guys were just too good to turn down. But before we get to the Top 11, let’s take a look at how it all unfolded:

  Ida, the Iranian girl, infuriated Nigel by dropping out of the competition after a morning of particularly harsh criticism. Ida insisted she merely had college on her mind, but Nigel didn’t buy it. He seemed particularly irked that she let the company pay for her to fly to Vegas (somehow, we think he can afford it).

  While even the “uneventful” groups looked pretty darn good to us in the group choreography round (we loved that move when a guy pretended to play the piano on a girl’s back), the judges weren’t quite so kind. Adam called one group “a disaster of epic proportions.”

  Elvis Potato Head Lives!

  The Elvis Presley estate has signed a deal for Hasbro Inc. and PPW Toys to release an Elvis version of Mr. Potato Head.

  Kevin Kern, a spokesman for Presley’s Graceland estate, told The Commercial Appeal the new toy is one of 15,000 Elvis-licensed products and is one the company is excited about.

  The first of the Elvis potato heads will be released for Elvis Tribute Week in August. The toy will be in a jumpsuit. A second version — with the likeness dressed in black leather — will be on the market for Christmas.

  PPW Toys spokesman Dean Gorby said the Elvis Mr. Potato Head will broaden the audience from young fans to adult toy collectors.

  'True Blood' star Natasha Alam may not have gone nude for Playboy were it not for Alexander Skarsgard

  Playboy is out for blood in their July issue.

  “True Blood,” that is.

  The HBO vampire series new star Natasha Alam is baring all for the venerable men’s magazine.

  Let’s just hope they weren’t shooting any of the photos in a mirror.

  Anyhoo, the  Uzbekistan-born beauty (who’s also an Iranian princess through her former marriage) talked about shooting nude sex scenes for her new show.

  “I’d never done nudity. I had to overcome a few things in my head to do it… [Then] here comes Alexander Skarsgard. He drops his robe, and he’s not wearing a sock – nothing,” she told the mag. “He’s just totally out there, walking around as if nothing’s going on. I was like, if he can do it, I can do it.”

  So it sounds like Playboy can thank Alexander Skarsgard for their July cover!

  Several pouty paramours linked to Tiger Woods, Jesse James and other philandering celebs are joining forces, and will soon be appearing in their birthday suits at a gentleman’s club near you.

  Heidi Montag separates from husband Spencer Pratt

  Multiple sources are reporting reality star Heidi Montag has started legal separation proceedings from real-life husband Spencer Pratt.

  Montag filed the papers in a Santa Monica courtroom on Tuesday.

  TMZ reports that Montag lists the date of separation as June 8, and that under the section “community assets and debts,” Heidi wrote “no such assets or debts.”

  Montag, 23, has been in the news in recent months for getting radical plastic surgery, including a new chin, a shaved spine, and massive breast implants.

  She and Spencer Pratt, 26, married on November 20, 2008 in Mexico.

  The two achieved a measure of fame from their roles on the MTV reality show “The Hills.” Montag is reportedly now filming her own reality show, sans Spencer.

  Question of the Day: Did President Obama 'whoomp'?

  The blogosphere has been lighting up with speculation that the 44th commander-in-chief had a brief cameo in the 1993 music video for “Whoomp (There It Is).”

  Admit it — you know the song, but in the 17 years since the one-hit wonders Tag Team came out with it, you’ll be forgiven if you forgot the left-handed hip-hopper in shades who’s seen smiling over a cash game of dominoes about 1:01 into the video.

  But take a second look — do you recognize his smiling face? Some bloggers think they do, and are questioning whether a much younger Obama, who would have been about 31 at the time, took a break from writing his memoirs to travel to Atlanta for the shoot.

  Kendra Wilkinson says sex tape 'extremely embarrassing'

  Just because she’s going to get rich from her sex tape, doesn’t mean Kendra Wilkinson is happy it came out.

  The former Playboy bunny told Ryan Seacrest in an interview on E! that the video, showing her having sex with her former boyfriend when she was just 18 years old, is “extremely embarrassing. I am a very open person, I am very honest about my life, but a sex tape was definitely not what I wanted in my life.”

  Wilkinson choked up when explaining that just after getting married the NFL player Hank Baskett and giving birth to her first child, this was not the ideal time for something like this to come out.
