  • IDOL411: Lee is DeWorst as Crystal gets 'back in the game'

    IDOL 411 |

The Top 4 “American Idol” contestants offered a very strange tribute to cinema on Tuesday night, singing songs from movies like “Caddyshack” and “Free Willy” while being forced to stare into Jamie Foxx’s eyes.

Lee DeWyze opened with Seal’s “Kiss From a Rose” … and to use an Ellen-esque pun, we think he was DeWorst of all the contestants. A few of those opening notes were pretty rough, and there were moments when you could barely hear the guy. Moreover, “Batman Forever” is not one of the movies we think of when we think of great cinema … or great music for that matter.

WATCH: Lee DeWyze Perform Seal’s “Kiss From a Rose.”

Casey James also failed to impress. As soon as we heard he’d be singing “Mrs. Robinson” from “The Graduate,” we KNEW it was just a matter of minutes before someone cracked a cougar joke about Kara. Post-performance banter aside, Casey’s version of “Mrs. Robinson” felt too somber and serious to us — we wish he would have done a rocked-out version of the song. But hey, at least he chose a good movie. Keep Reading…

  • Taylor Swift inducted into songwriting hall of fame

    FOX 411 | Editor

Kanye West may have taken offense at the wrong awards ceremony! (AP)

We like Taylor Swift. We really do. (“You belong to me-ee-ee…”)

See, we can’t stop singing her songs.

But the songwriting hall of fame? At age 20?

    Really?

That’s right – the country star who can’t yet even have a sip of low-carb beer will receive the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards on June 17 in New York City.

    The announcement was made Tuesday.

Swift, known for penning songs about her puppy love lapses, has written or co-written every song on her two multiplatinum-selling CDs: her 2006 self-titled debut and 2008’s “Fearless,” which won album of the year at this year’s Grammy Awards, among other top honors.

Everyone else receiving awards at the show is more than twice her age!

    Way more!

Phil Collins (59) and music producer Phil Ramone (69) will receive special awards at the event.

Other inductees include Leonard Cohen (75), Jackie DeShannon (65), David Foster (60), Johnny Mandel (84), Philip Bailey (59), Verdine White (58), Larry Dunn (57), Al McKay (62) and Earth, Wind & Fire’s Maurice White (68).

Those, we submit, are proper Hall of Fame inductee ages.

  • Is that Erin Andrews trying very hard to learn 'N Sync dance moves?

    FOX 411 | Editor

    (YouTube)

Is that Erin Andrews dancing and popping along behind ‘N Sync choreographer Darrin Henson on a made-for-TV instructional dance video available on both VHS and DVD for the low low price of $19.99?

    It sure looks like her.

“When you’re watching this choreogrpahy, you just want to get up and do it with him,” the fresh-faced star, clad in sweats, enthuses.

Do you think the advanced training disqualifies her from “Dancing With the Stars”?

    SLIDESHOW: Erin Andrews Hot Shots.

Or, instead, maybe this video is why she got off to such a slow start on the show, considering some of its online reviews:

“‘Darrin’s Dance Grooves’ is pretty darn bad. Offensive, even. There is very little dance instruction. Most of the DVD is taken up with what amounts to infomercial material. Britney loves Darrin, N’Snyc loves Darrin, etc.” writes one reviewer on Amazon.com, where used versions can be bought for a penny.

    Yes, a penny.

  • Australian waitress to sell her virginity in Las Vegas live auction

    FOX 411 | Editor

A woman who goes by the pseudonym 'Veronica' said her family very upset when they found out how she had decided to lose her virginity. (News Limited)

An Australian waitress will sell her virginity, with the final bidders facing off in a live auction in Las Vegas, The Sydney Daily Telegraph reported Monday.

In a new low in reality-TV, the debauched deal is the brainchild of a Melbourne, Australia filmmaker who plans to turn it into a documentary.

Justin Sisely has spent more than a year recruiting male and female virgins willing to auction themselves on camera. However, Sisely faces being charged with prostitution if he goes ahead with the deal on Australian soil.

Sisely said he now planned a face-to-face auction in the U.S. state of Nevada — home to “sin city” Las Vegas — with bidders in the same room as those auctioning off their virginity.

VIDEO: Watch “Veronica” Explain Why She Did This.

Sisely will pay each virgin $17,764, and they will also receive 90 percent of the sale price, with the remaining 10 percent going to the Nevada brothel where the auction will be held. Bids will be placed online before the final auction.

  • Was Elisabeth Hasselbeck forced to apologize for Erin Andrews comments?

    FOX 411 | Editor

    (Reuters/AP)

Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s tearful apology to Erin Andrews on “The View” may have been Barbara Walters’ idea, according to a new report from PopEater.com.

Earlier this week, Hasselbeck publicly apologized for her comments against stalking victim Andrews on “The View.” Hasselbeck said on an earlier show that Andrews’ convicted stalker could have avoided prison by waiting 12 weeks to see more skin revealed in her costumes on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Andrews later told Access Hollywood that Hasselbeck’s comments brought her to tears.

  • Pam Anderson's bronzed twins up for sale

    FOX 411 | Editor

    (Marc Quinn/White Cube Gallery)

Now that’s what we call pop art!

Busty “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson has been turned into a shiny pair of conjoined twins by artist Marc Quinn.

The bronze sculpture is part of a show about people who have transformed themselves. (Another sculpture is of singer Michael Jackson, so you get the picture.)

Quinn said at the opening that he focused on “people who have decided to change the outside of their bodies to fit how they feel inside.”

Quinn also did sculptures of much more extreme cases, including a man who changed his face to look like a cat, and Thomas Beattie, the “man” (he was born female) who became pregnant.

So why did he pick Pammy? Because unlike several other of his subjects, “Pamela’s done it within the mainstream in a way.”

  • Chaz Bono granted gender and name change

    FOX 411 | Editor

    (AP)

Chaz Bono is officially a man and has his new name.

A judge on Thursday granted a request to change the name and gender of the 41-year-old writer, activist and reality TV star.

Chaz Bono was born a girl, named Chastity, to Sonny Bono and Cher and underwent a gender-change operation last year.

Bono was represented in court by attorney Kristina Wertz of the Transgender Law Center. Wertz says the judge’s order is an important step in Chaz Bono’s transition and will allow him to reflect his new identity on a variety of official documents.

Wertz says in a statement, “Chaz couldn’t be happier.”
