  • Bret Michaels opens up to Oprah about hemorrhage ordeal

    (AP)

Musician Bret Michaels stays true to his “mandana,” even while hospitalized for a brain hemorrhage.

The Poison frontman told talk show queen Oprah Winfrey “If Im going out, I want to go out rockin,” during his first television interview since being released from the hospital earlier this month.

The singer, 47, suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage last month, just weeks after having surgery on his appendix.

Michaels told Oprah he knew something was “severely wrong” when he felt something that “just exploded instantly – ran from my temple down to the back of my skull.”

While many hemorrhages turn out to be fatal, Michaels’ doctors said he is expected to make a full recovery.

Michaels is also a finalist in Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” and will appear in next week’s live conclusion show to compete against actress Holly Robinson Peete.

Michaels says he will resume his tour at the end of this month.
