  • 'Tudors' star Jonathan Rhys Meyers used N-word in airport altercation, report says

Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers used racial slurs against a United Airlines employee last month in a drunken tirade that got him banned from boarding the flight, reports.

The Irish actor, star of Showtime’s “The Tudors,” reportedly used the “N” word when he was reprimanded for drunk and disorderly conduct inside a first class lounge earlier this month. Rhys Meyers was accused of drinking excessively in the early morning hours at New York City’s JFK airport while waiting to board a flight to Los Angeles, Radar reports.

When airline employees noticed the actor getting belligerent, they prevented him from boarding the flight, which sent him into an angry downward spiral, before shouting the “N” word. According to Radar, it was unclear whether he was directing the slur toward a specific individual.

Rhys Meyers has faced his fair share of troubles, having been arrested in 2007 at a Dublin airport shortly after checking out of his second stint in rehab for allegedly being drunk and in breach of peace. The charges were later dropped. Two years later, just three months out of his third stint, he was arrested for allegedly attacking staff in a Paris airport bar, Radar reports.
