    FOX 411 | Editor

Actor Gary Coleman died Friday at the age of 42 after suffering a brain hemorrhage Wednesday.

  • Megan Fox replaced with Victoria's Secret model?

    FOX 411 | Editor

    (Victoria's Secret)

What does it take to star in a “Transformers” movie?

    Apparently, not acting experience.

Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has reportedly been tapped by director Michael Bay to replace Megan Fox in the third installment of the popular sci-fi blockbuster movie series, due out in 2011.

    SLIDESHOW: Megan Fox Hot Shots.

This would be Huntington-Whiteley’s first acting gig. And she had better be a quick study, because filming has already begun.

What does Huntington-Whiteley possess that might make her an attractive last-minute replacement for Fox, who, while hardly Oscar material, had a pretty good career going before “Transformers” turned her into a Hollywood A-lister?

Perhaps this slideshow of Huntington-Whiteley’s work for some lingerie and swimsuit companies can help answer that question.

One other thing in her favor – she is currently dating actor Jason Statham, so she has someone to run lines with!

  • ‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Like ‘Idol,’ With More Kleenex

    FOX 411 | Editor

So we finally got around to watching “So You Think You Can Dance” on Thursday night. Yes, we know we’re about five years late to the party. But what could be a better time to get started on a new show than the night after Simon completed his final season of “American Idol”?

It’s probably not a news flash to anyone that the format is very similar to “Idol” — a ticket to Vegas is like a ticket to Hollywood, the choreography round is sort of like Hollywood week, etc. This season a group of 10 (instead of 20) competitors will be joined 12 All-Stars, returning finalists from previous seasons who will be partnered with the contestants throughout the competition.

    What is a SYTYCD All-Star?

Just like on “Idol,” when auditions for the show are announced, some amazing talent shows up — as well all the freaks. In the weirdo parade, we met “dancetastic” Mike Perlman, who looked like he was heading to a Jane Fonda-style Jazzercise class; the line dancing guy who cleans up bodily fluids for a living; and the young woman who did an uncomfortably sexual dance with her father.

    FOX 411 | Editor

Rapper 50 Cent dropped more than 50 pounds for a role in his upcoming movie “Things Fall Apart.”

The famously muscular rapper went on an all-liquid diet and ran 3 hours a day on the treadmill to play a professional football player diagnosed with cancer.

Country music fans have come to expect a little eccentricity from legendary crooner Willie Nelson, but he pulled off a real shocker this time: He cut his hair.

“Oh Noooooo!,” wrote one fan who saw a picture of Nelson’s new do on the website of Nashville television and radio personality Jimmy Carter.

SLIDESHOW: Celebs’ Hair Better Long or Short?

Nelson’s waist-deep, reddish pigtails have long been one of the singer-songwriter’s signature features. But spokeswoman Elaine Schock said Nelson, who’s been hanging loose in Hawaii, got his hair cut in the past couple of weeks.

Schock said the Texas-born performer didn’t make a big fuss about the makeover and thought he might have grown tired of dealing with long locks. She said, “there’s a lot of maintenance.”

  • EXCLUSIVE: Robert Pattinson has Reese Witherspoon 'flattered and giggling' on set of new movie

    FOX 411 | Editor

    (Reuters)

Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon are getting to know each other a lot better as they begin to prep for their upcoming movie, “Water for Elephants.”

Now a source close to the film tells Fox411.com that the chemistry between the two so far is “magic.”

Pattinson and Witherspoon have gotten together for preliminary meetings and table readings before shooting begins on the film about a veterinarian (Pattinson) who joins a circus, and the insider said their rapport was instant.

“Rob worked with Reese seven years ago on ‘Vanity Fair.’ He had a tiny part and he joked with Reese that of course she didn’t remember him from their time together then,” said the insider.

“They joke a lot and Rob has her blushing and laughing all the time. He’s very charming,” the source said. “He went on about how she is this beautiful, super-famous Academy Award winner, and Reese loved it. She was flattered and giggling while he teased. It’s cute and it makes for a great movie set. Everyone is excited because they fit so well together.”

The insider  warns that Reese’s agent boyfriend Jim Toth had better watch out or he could lose his girl to the gentle charms of the man who plays the world’s most famous vampire!

And what about Pattinson’s rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart? It turns out, that may have just been a rumor after all.

“Rob is not dating anyone. There are no plans for Kristen Stewart to visit the set and he tells everyone he is single,” the insider said. “Rob is smarter than anyone gives him credit for, he reads the Internet and pays attention to what people are saying. He is sharp and aware of everything. He’ll do the ‘Eclipse’ premieres and then focus 100 percent on Reese and ‘Water for Elephants.’ It’s like entering a whole new world for him.”

Could “Elephants” help turn Pattinson, 24, and Witherspoon, 34, into Hollywood’s latest June-September romance?

  • IDOL 411: DeWyze Is ‘DeWinner’ of best 'Idol' finale we've seen in awhile

    IDOL 411 |

    (FOX)

America, your new “Idol” is … Lee DeWyze.

With just 2 percent of the votes separating him from runner-up Crystal Bowersox, Lee had the “Beautiful Day” he was dreaming of Wednesday night, being proclaimed “DeWinner” of “American Idol” before a crowd of thousands while fireworks, lasers, confetti, and any other over-the-top display the “Idol” producers could think of rained down upon him.

Although we were not so secretly pulling for Crystal when it came down to the final two, we couldn’t help but feel happy for the boyishly humble Lee. Waiting for Ryan to announce the results, Lee had a look of terror and anticipation in his eyes like we’ve never seen on this show before. He wanted it … badly.

VOTE: Did Lee deserve to win?

From what we’ve heard about Lee, he hasn’t exactly been an overachiever in his life … so this really must be more than he ever expected for himself. It’s always a treat to witness someone having that “moment” (to use one of Simon Cowell’s favorite terms this season).

  • Lee DeWyze's 'Idol' win: Good news or bad news for Lee?

    FOX 411 | Editor

Did you see that one coming?

Lee DeWyze scored an upset win on Season 9 of ‘American Idol,’ and we gotta say, we were truly surprised. We thought Crystal Bowersox had it in the bag.

But with all of the second placers (Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert) getting more famous than their season’s winners (Rueben Studdard, Kris Allen), is being runner-up better than coming in first?

  • Bret Michaels supplants Keith Richards as toughest rocker on planet

    FOX 411 | Editor

Bret Michaels brought the house down with a surprise cameo on the “American Idol” finale.

Casey James came out covering the tuneful stylings of Poison, giving a heartfelt rendition of the metal band’s classic power ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”

As anticipation built that James might be joined onstage, lo and behold, the band’s lead singer Bret Michaels sauntered onstage with his acoustic guitar and joined the Season 9 runner up.

Fresh off an emergency appendectomy, brain hemorrhage, stroke, hole-in-the-heart diagnosis, and winning “Celebrity Apprentice,” Michaels got the sleepy crowd on its feet while James played the song’s lead guitar riffs.

So, now we know, when the big bomb hits, the nuclear holocaust survivor pecking order is now cockroaches, Keith Richards, and Bret Michaels.

  • Dane Cook's Simon Cowell tribute hijacked by loser!

    FOX 411 | Editor

Dane Cook was halfway into an admittedly hard-to-watch bit where he put some of Simon Cowell’s best insults to music, when things went horribly awry.

Several of the more infamous losers from past auditions joined him on the stage to bring a little more (deseperately needed) comic relief, when one of them grabbed Cook’s microphone and screamed “This is my Kanye West moment!”

The contestant, a male of indeterminate age with a shaved head, had been featured in an earlier montage of terrible singers Cowell had disabused of any notion they might be the next “American Idol.”

The spurned singer ranted on a few more seconds onstage before he was intercepted by Tatiana del Toro, a contestant from Season 8.

But the damage was done – “Idol” cut abruptly to commercial.

We’re not exactly complaining. It was some relief not to have to listen to the rest of Cook’s hackneyed bit.

But we’re sure we’ll be hearing more from and about the tortured soul who stopped Simon Cowell’s tribute in its tracks.
