  • Watch out Lady Gaga! Telephone video remake by U.S. Soldiers hits the web

    YouTube

Move over Beyonce and Lady Gaga, there’s some fierce competition coming your way – straight from Afghanistan!

“Telephone: The Afghanistan Remake” hit the web last week featuring U.S. soldiers doing their version of the popular video and it’s quite a hit.

On his YouTube page, Aaron Melcher, the 24-year-old soldier who is the brainchild behind the video, describes it as ” a couple guys located in Afghanistan, that re-made the music video by Lady Gaga.”

The men are from the 82nd Airborne Division and reportedly filmed the video at the Forward Operating Base in Farah Province, the Smoking Gun reports.

“Prepare yourself for a fantastical journey,” he said. ”Right now this is the temporary version, we have more scenes to cut, and edit, however with guys always on mission it is harder to film than you think.”

The song starts off with “Big Rob” and “Pilon” serenading each other with mock telephones and dancing together in (somewhat) unison. From the get-go you can see that they have talent.

From group dances and back flips to crazy costumes, this video has everything except Gaga dancing around in a bikini – although you do see some skin.

This could be a dance off in the making. Watch the full video here.
