A Georgia gubernatorial candidate was arrested Wednesday for making threats against singer Elton John, the Atlanta-Journal Consitution  reports.

Neal Horsley was arrested in Carrollton, Georgia, according to local police.

John, who the paper calls a "part-time Atlantan," angered Horsley when he told Parade magazine that he thought Jesus was gay.

Horsley then penned the Internet diatribe on "Why Elton John Must Die," the paper said.

There is also a video posted on YouTube showing Horsley protesting outside John's Peachtree Road condominium with a sign that reads "Elton John Must Die."

Horsley was charged with making terroristic threats, criminal defamation and using the Internet to disseminate threats.

This is not the first time Horlsey has gotten in trouble using the Internet, the paper reports. In 2002 a federal appeals court ruled a Web site run by Horsley condemning abortion doctors amounted to illegal threats, not free speech.

This one made me laugh! It's good to have a light hearted moment with a sleazy politician.

Elton John MUST die!-for the simple reason that, he is a human being (albeit a despicable one in my humble opinion), and as a result of his being a human being, then Hirsley was right!-He must die, he will die, as will Hirsley, and you, and I!!!

I may not agree with Elton John, but that doesn't mean someone should post hateful things about someone.

I've never wished death on someone because of their particular view of things, weird as they might be. Does this guy claim to be Christian? (The hate filled Rev.Wright calls himself a Christian.) I know this type of behavior, (issuing death threats based on insults to a religion), is common to many islamic nations, but virtually unheard of from other religions. I'll not go in to the reasons for that here. What it sounds like is this guy is 2 beers short of a six-pack and has been for years.

And this guy is a potential representative of the people? It sounds more like he is a ticking time bomb and should be on some sort of watch list.

Horsley seems to have confused Christianity with Islam.
