  Rumor Buster: Darius Rucker isn't going to be Jay Leno's musical director guy

  With Kevin Eubanks reportedly leaving the “Tonight Show,” rumors have persisted that Darius Rucker, former Hootie and Blowfish lead singer, and current fledgling country star, would take over when Jay Leno returns to his 11:35 time slot in March.

  However, when asked about the rumor, Rucker’s publicist laughed, and told Fox News it is not true.

  Another rumor … busted!

  Fox411 Exclusive: JWOWW reveals neither she nor Snooki is Italian!

  When MTV announced it was debuting a little television show called “Jersey Shore,” scores of Italian-Americans decried the program, claiming it promoted unhealthy ethnic stereotypes.

  But in an appearance on FoxNews.com’s hit Web show, “The Strategy Room,” Jenni “JWOWW” Farley revealed that she and some of the other cast members are not actually Italian!

  Farley herself is “Spanish and Irish,” while castmate Snooki is actually Chilean.

  We’ll give you a moment to reflect on that.

  The self-proclaimed “guidette princess” from Poughkeepsie is not Italian!

  Jen Aniston and Gerard Butler are just friends, sources say

  But we digress…

  Multiple sources are telling FOX411 that the multiple stories about Jen Aniston and Gerard Butler’s supposed romance add up to zero.

  The ‘Bounty Hunter’ stars set tongues a-wagging over their “romantic” birthday getaway in Cabo San Lucas Mexico last week. All of Jen’s Hollywood buddies, including Sheryl Crow and Courteney Cox Arquette, joined her to celebrate her 41st birthday. Gerard was one of the lucky few men to get an invite, along with her treasured hairstylist and best friend, Chris McMillan, but friends tell FOX411 the Mexican rendezvous was more PR-related than a love connection.

  IDOL 411: Good guys, bad girls emerge on group night

  “American Idol” seemed to be setting up two major characters in Wednesday night’s Group Round episode: Michael “Big Mike” Lynche as the good-natured teddy bear you can’t help but love and Mary Powers as the infamous reality show villain.

  Let’s start with Big Mike.

  Singer Erykah Badu made headlines last year (and was the butt of some jokes) for Tweeting about the birth of her child in real time; Big Mike came close to doing the same thing on Wednesday night, showing photos and videos of his wife in the delivery room and announcing that she was “8 centimeters.”

  John Mayer has a big mouth.

  The musician who makes “O-faces” when he plays guitar solos told Playboy magazine intimate details about his high-profile relationships with Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson, from bedroom secrets to why they broke up.

  And it turns out one reason he and Aniston didn’t work was because he can’t keep his thoughts to himself.

  “One of the most significant differences between us was that I was tweeting,” he told Playboy. “There was a rumor that I had been dumped because I was tweeting too much.   TLC reality mom Kate Gosselin could be returning to television sooner than you think, as sources tell Fox411 that she and her family of ten are in talks with the network to begin filming again.

  Last fall, Kate’s ex-husband Jon Gosselin issued TLC a cease-and-desist order to halt filming his ex-wife and their eight children during the couple’s divorce proceedings. Since then, the Gosselins have traded jabs with one another through various media appearances and interviews.

  But Kate is about to get everything she could want since the end of her marriage to Jon.

  IDOL 411: Ellen DeGeneres torn between naughty and nice on 'Idol'

  Ellen DeGeneres made her debut on “American Idol” Tuesday night, and our initial feeling was “eh.”

  The comedienne did make us laugh a couple of times, like when she teased the nervous contestants by asking them to step forward, then step back, then step to the side, then finally told them they’d all made it through. She also gave a great sound bite when she told a barefoot contestant to “put some shoes on … it’s filthy here. Hollywood is a disgusting town.”
