  • 'Jersey Shore' proves critics right, and is hard not to watch

    FOX 411 | Editor

    jerseycast

Thursday night’s premiere of MTV’s controversial reality show ‘Jersey Shore’ was everything it was billed to be – and then some.

The participants, chosen by MTV, live together for a summer in a beach house, ‘Real World’ style.

The Italian-American cast members refer to themselves repeatedly as “guidos” and “guidettes,” and are proud to represent their “lifestyle.”

(Looks like concerns aired by Italian-American groups that the show depicts ethnic stereotypes were dead on.)

Mike, aka “The Situation,” describes a guido as “a good-looking, smooth, well-dressed Italian.” All eight 20-somethings embrace the word “guido.” “There’s no negative connotations,” says Jenni, AKA “J-WOW.”

SLIDESHOW: The crazy cast of ‘Jersey Shore.’

Controversy aside, “Jersey Shore” is vintage car accident TV, meaning even though, or perhaps because, you know you’re going to see something gruesome, it’s hard not to look.

Fox was at the Grammy nomination ceremony in Los Angeles last night and talked to a bunch of the nominees, including the Black Eyed Peas, a King of Leon, and Keri Hilson. Here are their unedited reactions…

The Black Eyed Peas got six Grammy nominations and talked about what it meant to them.

    Fergie: “Exhilarating.”

Will.i.am: “It feels good to be nominated. To have the six awards is great. Wow you know and they could of, we, we could of went the okey-doke route and we could have been forgotten about if we would have just, you know, a lot of artists they, they, they reach a level of success and they get comfortable and they don’t think it’s important to go out in the world and collaborate with people, go to clubs and see what the kids are listening to and we really did our homework and participated in what is and we go to clubs, go to underground clubs, me and and apl.de.jay, so this not, these nominations, I’m so proud that we didn’t get swallowed by our ‘yesterday’ success.”

  • Tiger Woods' wife could receive $300M in divorce settlement

    (Reuters)

Tiger Woods’ wife could receive a record-breaking divorce settlement if she leaves the golf champ after his public infidelity admission yesterday.

According to Us magazine, Elin Nordegren signed a prenuptial agreement at the time of her marriage to Woods worth a reported $300 million, topping the previous record for celebrity divorces held by Michael Jordan’s wife, Juanita, who received approximately $150 million.

In addition to the settlement, Us reports that the couple –married since 2004 — own a $2.6 million home in Florida, a 155-foot $22 million yacht and a $39 million mansion on Jupiter Island.

SLIDESHOW: Elin Nordegren, from bikini model to billionaire’s wife.

Woods, who Forbes magazine said has made $1 billion since 2006, has some of the biggest sponsorship and endorsement deals in professional sports. Nike alone pays Woods more than $30 million annually, and other companies like Gatorade and Gillette have pledged to support him and his family during this time.

  • Rolling Stone guitarist Ron Wood arrested for allegedly assaulting girlfriend

    (AP)

Ron Wood, guitarist for the Rolling Stones, was arrested last night and charged with assaulting his girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova in Esher, England, Sky News  reports.

He was released from jail after posting bail.

Bernard Doherty, a rep for the Rolling Stones, confirmed that Wood had been arrested, and said the band would not be issuing a statement.

Wood, who split from his wife of 24 years last year, has been involved in an on-again, off-again relationship with Ivanova since 2008.

    SLIDESHOW: May-December romances

In February, the 20-year-old told Grazia magazine that she wants to start a family with the 62-year-old rocker.

“Maybe it would be nice – but not for at least ten years,” she muses. ‘I’m young, so I definitely don’t want a baby yet. And Ronnie’s a great dad, but I don’t know if he’d want any more.”

Woods, whose finalized divorce last month cost him nearly $11 million, has two children with his first wife. Both are older than Ivanova.

But the former cocktail waitress claims age meant nothing to the two, despite a 41 year gap.

“”This whole age thing is irrelevant,” she said. “Not every 60-year-old is going to be doing what people say 60-year-olds should do, like smoking a pipe, and not every 20-year-old likes to go clubbing either.”

  • Tiger Woods Apologizes for 'Transgressions' as More Affairs Are Alleged

    (AP)

Tiger Woods apologized Wednesday for hurting his family as more women were romantically linked to the married golfer.

In a written statement, Woods said, “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings.”

Last week, two days before Woods crashed his sport utility vehicle into a fire hydrant and tree outside his house, the National Enquirer published a story alleging that Woods had been seeing a New York nightclub hostess, and that they were recently together in Melbourne, where Woods competed in the Australian Masters.

SLIDESHOW: Tiger Woods’ three alleged mistresses.

The woman, Rachel Uchitel, denied having an affair with Woods.

Since then, San Diego cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs told to Us magazine that she had a 31-month-long affair with the golf champ, and Life & Style magazine has a story claiming Woods had a sexual relationship with Vegas nightclub manager Kalika Moquin.

  • Katie Holmes Defends Suri's High Heels

    FOX 411 | Editor

    SuriHeelsBlog

Just two weeks after FoxNews.com’s exclusive report on the dangers of Suri Cruise wearing heels, her celebrity mother Katie Holmes is defending her daughter’s wardrobe.

After several photos of Suri in open toe shoes during cold weather surfaced, FoxNews.com spoke with New York-based podiatrist Dr. Oliver Zong.

Zong told Fox, “A common side effect of adults wearing heels too often is the tightening or shortening of the Achilles tendon,” Zong told FoxNews.com “At Suri’s age, children are growing quickly, and you want everything growing at the same rate. If the tendon is not growing at the same rate as everything else, it could become a problem.”

Click here to read FoxNews.com’s report on Suri’s heels.

But yesterday, Katie Holmes told Access Hollywood that the shoes are actually quite supportive.

“They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids,” she said. “I found them for her and she loves them.”

Katie also said that Suri’s love for heels is not unlike other children her age.

“She, like every little girl – she loves my high heels,” she said.

  • Tiger Woods seen leaving Florida hotel room with unidentified woman in 2008, source says

    FOX 411 | Editor
    (AP)

    (AP)

Tiger Woods has carefully protected his image during his years atop the professional golf world, but in the wake of tabloid allegations of infidelity and a still unexplained early morning car accident after Thanksgiving, that image is now being scrutinized.

And it looks like Woods does not like it one bit.

The sports star has denied three requests from Florida law enforcement for an interview to aid in its investigation of the accident. And in a short statement released days after the accident in his gated Orlando community early Friday morning, one which left him unconscious and bloody in the street beside his Cadillac Escalade, Woods said, “This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way.”

SLIDESHOW: Party photos of Rachel Uchitel, the woman linked to Tiger Woods.

A former reporter who covered Woods on numerous occasions on the PGA tour told Fox411 that such a stance is par for the course with Woods. The insider said that for years, even before marrying Elin Nordegren in 2004, Tiger has taken “extraordinary efforts” to keep his private life just that: private.

“Tiger never wanted to be a huge public figure,” the source tells Fox411. “He has a security unit that takes care of him when he’s traveling, and they keep him safe and shaded from even the prying eyes of fans and paparazzi.”

AUDIO: The 911 call outside Tiger Woods’ home.

But the insider says that on one occasion, that security was breached.
