  Simon Cowell will leave 'American Idol,' brother says

  Simon Cowell may be one step closer to announcing his exit from “American Idol.”

  Rumors that the British star is preparing to leave the show that made him a household name continue to pile up after months of speculation.

  According to the Times of London, Cowell will announce his departure after the upcoming season of “Idol” to star in an American version of his U.K. singing competition “The X-Factor.”

  In perhaps the most telling indicator of Cowell’s plans so far, his brother Tony Cowell announced on his radio show “Fame Game” that the rumors of Simon’s impending departure were indeed correct.

  Duane “Dog” Chapman, the star of “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” is doing a very special episode of his show Wednesday night.

  He’s hunting down Kris Kringle.

  “Geraldo [Rivera] has been my friend for many, many years, and my family and I tune in to Fox News all the time,” Chapman told Fox411.com “It’s a Dog-friendly channel. I get excited when Greta [Van Susteren] has a fugitive up on her show to keep an eye out for. We watch Fox to get leads on different suspects or fugitives.”

  Accidental overdose eyed in Brittany Murphy's death following discovery of pills, source says

  Large amounts of prescription drugs were found in Brittany Murphy’s bedroom when paramedics were called to her Los Angeles home on Sunday, a law enforcement source close to the investigation into the 32-year-old actress’ sudden death confirmed to Fox411.com Tuesday.

  “A check of the nightstands revealed large amounts of prescription medication in the decedent’s name,” TMZ first reported after reviewing what they say were notes made by an investigator from the L.A. County Coroner’s office. “Also noted were numerous empty prescription medication bottles in the decedent’s husband’s name, the decedent’s mother’s name, and unidentified third party names.”

  Fox411.com can exclusively report that investigators are focusing on Murphy’s drug use, and that the working theory of her cause of death is accidental overdose, according to the law enforcement source.

  Investigators are waiting to see what combination of drugs was in her system, and if other non-prescription drugs are revealed in the toxicity report, the source says.

  Bottles for 10 prescription medications found in Brittany Murphy's bedroom, report says

  Large amounts of prescription drugs were found in Brittany Murphy’s bedroom when paramedics were called on Sunday to help the now-deceased actress, TMZ reports.

  Brittany Murphy had "Hollywood demons," tried hard to find love, work, source says

  Brittany Murphy worked hard to be happy, was constantly looking for love and approval, and struggled to find work as she got older in Hollywood, a source close to the actress told Fox411.com.

  “[Brittany] tried to make it seem like she was happy all the time,” the insider said of Murphy, who died on Sunday of an apparent heart attack at the age of 32. “She sought out love and affection and  wanted to find true love with [husband] Simon [Monjack] after a slew of messy relationships.”

  Murphy had been engaged at least twice, to actor Ashton Kutcher and production assistant Joe Macaluso.

  Tila Tequila says she's pregnant with her brother's child

  Tila Tequila has also been linked to Courtney Semel.

  When Tila Tequila announced she was engaged to her troubled lesbian lover Casey Johnson last week, flashing a 17-carat ring, jaws dropped a few inches.

  This weekend’s announcement made them drop to the floor.

  “Im [sic] pregnant,” she Tweeted on Sunday.

  But that was just the beginning.
  

  “I am going to become a SURROGATE MOTHER for my brother and his Wife!!…That is my xmas present to them,” she continued.

  No word yet from her brother on the bood news. And neither is there reaction from her “fiance” Casey Johnson, who is trying to regain custody of her adopted 2-year-old daughter from her aunt.

  We could maybe see some drama in the coming months, we suspect!

  Gosselin divorce finalized, Kate gets house and kids

  Jon and Kate Gosselin officially divorced Friday after 10 years of marriage, eight children and a year of tabloid headlines.

  Kate Gosselin gets the family home in eastern Pennsylvania in the no-fault divorce agreement, according to her lawyer, Mark Momjian. She will also continue as the primary caretaker of the reality TV couple’s 9-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets.

  “Divorce is always a difficult process, and in this case there’s obviously the added challenge of being a celebrity and having to deal with the reality of such a large family,” Momjian told The Associated Press. “But I know she is very excited about restructuring her life and looking forward to the new year.”

  Judge Bans Guns at Jon Gosselin's Home

  A Pennsylvania judge has ordered that no guns be allowed at Jon Gosselin’s home after the reality television dad was seen shooting a loaded pistol at his Berks County house.

  According to MyFoxPhiladelphia, Judge Arthur Tilson issued the order Thursday after photographers snapped the former “Jon and Kate Plus Eight” star carrying the gun and then shooting it on his estate.

  Gosselin has also been ordered to register the pistol at a new address within 90 days.

  It was the second legal hurdle for the 32-year-old father of eight in just a few days. Earlier this week, authorities ruled he could not make any media appearances for compensation without permission from the TLC network, which aired the show that made him famous.

  Gosselin and estranged wife Kate are set to finalize their divorce next week.
