  • Britney Spears is Fox411.com's Celebrity of the Decade

    FOX 411 | Editor

    brit600

    It’s hard to stay interesting.

It takes a combination of talent, vulnerability, stupidity, guts, beauty, brains and determination to keep the public’s attention.

Britney Spears has that unique combination, and in the 2000s, she was the most talked about celebrity of all, bar none.

From her relationship with Justin Timberlake to mothering two children to a dizzying downward spiral to an amazing career comeback, Britney did it all.

To commemorate her death-defying decade, we wrote a little rhyme we call “The ABCs of Britney Spears.”

Click it for some of Brit’s highlights and lowlights of the 2000s.

  • Constantine Maroulis signs on for a 'showmance' with Tinsley Mortimer, source says

2009 has been mighty fine for former “American Idol” 6th-place contestant Constantine Maroulis.

The star of the Broadway musical “Rock of Ages” was nominated for a Tony, asked by Miley Cyrus to perform at her birthday party, and named Broadway.com’s star of the year.

Next up? A showmance with New York City socialite Tinsley Mortimer on the CW reality show “Empire State,” set to debut in 2010.

“Constantine signed up to ‘date’ socialite Tinsley Mortimer on her new CW show,” a source close to the show told Fox411.com. “He was into it, thought she was cute, and [thought] he’d have some fun doing it. He’s just building up different projects, and since this one is in New York about the life of New Yorkers, he thought he would get involved.”

Tinsley, 33, is a handbag and clothing designer who filed for divorce eight months ago from Standard oil heir Topper Mortimer.

Yep, his first name is Topper! Ha!

Anyhoo, while Maroulis, 34, is psyched about the TV deal, it sounds like his people are kind of not.

“‘Empire State’ is ’staged reality’ and Constantine’s agents and managers would prefer he focus solely on the Broadway stage and other more respectable projects,” the insider said.

The other “real” characters on the “staged reality” show (we know, it’s confusing) aren’t too happy with the faux showmance, either.

“The families of the real characters on the show are worried it will be embarrassing because the story lines are created,” the source said. “He’s not really dating Tinsley and she’s quietly admitted it to friends.”

Reps for CW and Maroulis were not immediately available for comment.

So what does dating for the cameras entail exactly?

“They went out a couple of times and they spent a little pre-holiday time together,” the pal blabbed. “Constantine invited Tinsley to see ‘Rock of Ages.’ It’s a great advertisement for the show and for New York, two things he loves. She’s hot and he got to kiss her and canoodle a bit – it wasn’t a hardship.”

  • Report: Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner Split

    (X17 Online)

It seems the relationship between Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner is little more than a brief case of puppy love.

After three months of dating, the two young stars have officially split, Us magazine reports.

“It wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends,” a Swift pal told Us. “There was no chemistry.”

The 20-year-old singer and 17-year-old “Twilight” star began fueling rumors of a romance after meeting on the set of the upcoming film “Valentine’s Day.” Since then, the two were seen going on frozen-yogurt dates and at various L.A. locations.

According to Us, the relationship officially fell apart after Lautner flew to Nashville for Swift’s birthday party on Dec. 13.

“He liked her more than she liked him,” the source said. “He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn’t travel much to see him.”

  • Hailey Glassman Lawyer: Gosselin break-in a publicity stunt

    FOX 411 | Editor

    Jon Hailey Blog

Jon Gosselin really seems to have a way with women.

This weekend, the former reality star’s New York City apartment was reportedly ransacked. According to his attorney Mark Jay Heller, the 32-year-old returned home after spending the holidays with his eight kids to find furniture, clothing and personal belongings “slashed by a very sick perpetrator,” People magazine reports.

According to Radar Online, Gosselin’s lawyer believes the culprit to be Jon’s 22-year-old ex-girlfriend Hailey Glassman, who was the only person believed to have a key to the apartment.

Heller reportedly even went so far as to say “Hailey Glassman is going to jail. Simple as that.”

But Glassman’s attorney Anand Ahuja tells People that someone is trying to “frame” Glassman.

Despite rumors of a note pinned to the dresser by a kitchen knife, Stephanie Ovadia, another attorney for Glassman, told Radar that she merely removed her things from the apartment but absolutely did not cause any damage.

“I don’t know anything about any note and I can’t confirm it at this time,” Ovadia told People. “This appears to be a publicity stunt.”

Ovadia added that Glassman is not a suspect, although Radar reports she was questioned by police following the incident.

Moreover, Glassman’s lawyers charge that Jon set up the entire incident as part of a massive publicity stunt.

“My client had nothing to do with this,” Ahuja said. “As far as she is concerned, it’s a hoax.”

  • Moview Review: Heath Ledger's final movie "Imaginarium" on the confusing side...

    FOX 411 | Editor

    imaginarium

Heath Ledger’s death created interest in his last film, “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.”

But this Terry Gilliam film has too much movie for how little actual story it contains.

And what plot there is tends to be confusing: Is it a tale of the battle between good and evil? Is it about a touring circus that provides patrons a way into their own dreams and nightmares? Is it about how Gilliam replaced Ledger in various scenes with Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell – and made it make sense?

You’ll walk out wondering – and shaking your head over how Gilliam’s amazing visuals add up to so little in the end.
