Despite his staggering success as the certified break out star of the “Twilight” film franchise, actor Robert Pattinson is still threatened by his co-stars.
Sources tell Fox411 exclusively that Pattinson is not a fan of sharing the spotlight and that he even refused to host “Saturday Night Live” along with his “New Moon” costars Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz.
"Rob is threatened by Kellan and Taylor because he knows he's not the only hottie in the 'Twilight' series," says the source. "When SNL approached him to host he was excited - until he found out he would be hosting with Kellan and Taylor. Rob was used to being the only star associated with ‘Twilight’ and now with Taylor's new buff body and Kellan's rise to fame, that's not the case anymore. He doesn't want to share the stage with them on ‘SNL’ because he doesn't think they are serious actors like him and doesn't believe they are on the same level."
Indeed, in a new interview with Vanity Fair magazine, Pattinson opened up about his appearance and revealed some seriously low self esteem, comparing his looks to that of a “cartoon character.”
“I’m unbearably self-conscious about stuff,” he told Vanity Fair.
But one co-star around whom Pattinson feels comfortable is Kristen Stewart, to whom he is often romantically linked in the press.
“It doesn’t make any difference what you say [to the tabloids]. I’ve literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it’s like ‘Oh, they were on secret dates! It’s like, ‘Where?’ I can’t get out of my hotel room.”
But aside from correcting all those pesky rumors, Pattinson did sneak in a little gushing about Stewart.
“She’s influenced how I’ve done all the ‘Twilight’ stuff. It’s quite nice to have someone who is genuinely indifferent to the whole spectacle of everything.”
Who in their right mind would post this ridiculous piece of gossip? Anyone who know even a little bit about Rob, who has read or seen an actual interview with the reluctant heart throb knows he is uncomfortable with SO MUCH attention. To think he would not WELCOME a bit of relief, much less feel threatened is SO absurd. How can anyone running an entertainment blog not recognize this rumor for the JOKE it is?! Even the SNL report has since been proven false. Is this site no better than a tabloid?
I'm a lover of Fox News, but this kind of sensational, reporting of rumors, that would have been easy to corroborate or debunk with a phone call or two, is VERY disappointing. The story about SNL trying to book the three male Twilight actors for the same show is FALSE. Kinda makes the rest of the article suspect too.

I just feel pity on this man. he really doesn't have privacy..but yes, he can't expect privacy because he's a public figure/property. anyway, Mr. Rob Pattinson, im not so much a fan of yours but yes, i really appreciate your work in the movie.. well...we all can have different opinions but what's the the point of speculating? do not judge unless you've been thru exactly the same and know what you're talking about. i just hope his life doesn't turn to the hell m.jackson was living in. imagine your life without any privacy! try to live in prison without possibility to do any of those 'normal' things your friends can do every day. remember that we are not talking about royal family member who was raised for being in spotlight...

I believe it. Just because you're an actor doesn't mean you aren't human and don't experience feelings of self doubt and insecurities. It's been widely reported that he has a hard time sharing the spotlight.
I think you are not right... He is a very good actor, if he wasn't, he wouldn't be playing the lead role in that movie. I understand, you guys are very patriotic and stuff, but he is waaayyy much better actor than the rest of the crew... and he is just a person who doesn't like so much attention to himself, being kinda insecure about himself and thinking that he might not live to all the expectations... imho.
