The U.S. Army is issuing an official apology to Ryan Seacrest -- after learning his alleged stalker is one of their own.
TMZ just spoke with Lt. Col. Nathan Banks, an Army spokesperson, who told us: "We apologize to Ryan Seacrest. Pending the outcome of the local investigation, the Army will decide what further action to take. We take all matters of our personnel seriously."
As TMZ first reported, Chidi Uzomah is currently a member of the U.S. Army reserves -- and is assigned to a special forces unit. Translation -- he's a very dangerous man.
Mom of a Green Beret. I'm thinking annoyed is too mild a word. Amused, definately not. I don't know the facts of the case. Anyone can be attached or assigned with a sf team. Can't imagine this guy has much sf training. If my son or one of his team wanted in the car, they woulda been in the car. A body guard or three wouldn't have mattered
i'm in the national guard, and while it is shocking to learn that Seacrest's stalker is also military, it doesn't mean he is as dangerous as you might think. Keep in mind, Selena and John Lennon were killed by fans with no military training whatsoever...
Just because the individual was assigned to a reserve Army Special Forces unit does not in any way indicate the individual is Army Special Forces qualified--he could very well have a job as a dental technician and still be assigned to an SF unit.
What I saw was that he was assigned to a Civil Affairs unit. While it's affiliated with Special Ops command, it does not make him a Special Forces soldier. I imagine the Green Berets reading this are actually a bit annoyed, if not amused.
He could be a bloody clerk in the unit...
