“Full House” star Jodie Sweetin is gearing up to reveal details of her checkered past in a new bombshell tell-all memoir.
Sweetin, 27, played sweet middle-child Stephanie Tanner on “Full House” from 1987 to 1995. But as Sweetin matured from child to teen star, she found herself slipping deeper into a dark world of drug and alcohol abuse.
In an exclusive preview in Star magazine, Sweetin says that she spent years desperately trying to prove that she wasn’t the girl from “Full House” and that she could get more “trashed than everyone else.”
At just fourteen years old, Sweetin found herself turning to the bottom of a wine glass in search of confidence. After getting drunk and passing out in the restroom at co-star Candace Cameron’s 1994 wedding, she says she woke up the next day and realized, “I was Jodie Sweetin and I was an alcoholic.”
After realizing her issue, things only got worse for the young star, who later turned to pot, cocaine and crystal meth. At her lowest, she even drove drunk with her infant daughter Zoie in the car.
I think that some of the posters are missing the point of a 'tell-all' for Jodie; this may be part of her recovery, a cathartic and freeing experience in getting clean and staying sober. Because we are not aware of her recovery plan, this may just be another part of her admittance and amends in regard to her drug/alcohol use. Try not to be so judmental as to what her intention is with writing her book. Everyone needs a 'do-over' so cut this little girl lost some slack. I wish her all the best!
Jodie has realized that her life was out of control and is being honest. I highly commend her for this action. She would be welcome to speak at our recovery support group at church any time. She should be commended for her honesty and decision. RJ in Atlanta
I pray that she gets her head on straight because she is a good actress. She needs to get past her childhood acting days and work on adult-type acting in Hollywood. It may be hard to do this but she'll eventually get the roles.
Sad. She was a cute kid. Man, I couldn't be happier that my daughters are 1000 miles away from Hollywood and all the degrading, hedonistic idiocy it represents.
Everyone has low points in their life, for anyone to judge her, or look at her wrong because she is a celebrity, has something to hide themselves.... But people alwys think its a waste of time when someone falls and then gets back up..
We hear of these stories all the time and how tragic they are. Unfortunatly only a small group of possible actors and proformers learn from the mistakes form others. This is why Hollywood has more of a negitive and hypocritcle impact on our socitey. Yes performers provide a service but so does the garbage man. Do they get to write about the ills in their lives.

Although I am sorry she went through such an ordeal, why should she or any other "celebrity" profit from their stupidity and poor judgement?

Seems to be a recurring theme with child stars. Anyone doing anything about it? Parents?
