Joan Rivers isn't pulling any punches when it comes to the former King of Late Night's move to prime time.
The plastic-surgery loving comedienne, who was once a regular "Tonight Show" guest host during the Johnny Carson years (before he ended up hating her guts), gave an interview to BettyConfidential.com, where she threw a hard left at Jay Leno, whose new 10pm talk show premieres on September 14.
When asked what she thought of the funnyman's controversial move (he is the first former "Tonight Show" host to try to take his audience to a new time slot on the same network), Rivers said:
I think he will put America to sleep even earlier. And that’s good because it will save power and light.
I can't wait to see Jay Leno back on the air. TV in general is so lonely without him. He's like a friend who left and is now coming back. Conan could never replace Jay! What was NBC thinking?
Um. She's been saying stuff like that for 60 years. Its what she does. And she'd probably say it to Leno's face. And he'd laugh. How bout you go complain that Don Rickles was rude to you?
Naaahhhhh Leno wont mention her at all. He has more class then to get into a pi$$ing match with a low talent person like Rivers. Oh, is her show still on the TV Guide channel?
Hey folks, if Joan Rivers can finally take it so can the tough guys, who I am sure never paid the dues she did.
If she hits a raw nerve, there must be a reason. More power to Joan as you leaps to high heights in her career. A very courageous woman; I have seen how Fox and Friends are dissing her. Who does she think she is when there are so many starving comedians she has displaced. The snails come with their horns after the rain, an old Sicilian saying. Jay might know something about that.
joan rivers comments about Jay leno proves that she is as ugly on the inside as she is ugly on the outside;and boy she is ugly! This is a person that has nothing going for her except her own jokes about here plastic surgery debacle. I am sure that she was good friends with michael jackson another debacle.
