Oscar-winner Anna Paquin has traded the silver screen for the smaller variety, at least for now. Paquin plays mind reader Sookie Stackhouse on HBO’s hot vampire series “True Blood,” and is also on the cover of the September issue of Nylon magazine.

In a wide-ranging interview, Paquin, 27, talks about her nude scenes on the show, which have generated a lot of attention mainly because, for most, she’ still the little kid from “The Piano.”

“I don’t think a naked body is particularly shocking or interesting… It’s not the culture I was raised in,” she explains to Nylon.” I was not brought up in the United States. I don’t share the [attitude] that you can have graphic violence, but – God forbid – you see someone’s nipples.”

Paquin says her recent transformation from brunette to blonde has been more of a shock to the system that taking it all off in front of the cameras.

“The second you dye your hair blonde and get a spray tan, people treat you as if you’re a bit stupider and happier,” she marvels. “Suddenly, it’s like you’re hot and sexy.”

For shame! Who would ever promote such a stereotype?
