Elaine Hendrix starred alongside the then-child star Lindsay Lohan in the hit Disney film "The Parent Trap" twelve years ago, and even though the two never exactly formed a friendship Hendrix is not surprised that the troubled Tinseltowner is where she is today.
"I didn't know she was going to be the next big thing, but it's not really a surprise that she is where she is. She's extremely talented, but she has a tumultuous family dynamic happening so it's not really a surprise she is where she is," Hendrix told FOX411. "She is in the position to have whatever kind of career she wants, she just has to get straight about what it is exactly that she does want and what she's willing to do for it. Growing up having the experiences she's had, those things affect her behavior and her decisions."
Besides her thoughts on Lindsay, Hendrix also thinks the country could be in for a world of hurt.
The actress/animal rights activist believes, as a nation, America needs to start addressing our internal affairs.
"I think it is really hard when you start stepping into other people's countries and try to tell them what to do, and yet how do you let other people get beaten up by bullies and bigger people?" Hendrix questioned. "There are also certain trade agreements that I don't agree with, I very much don't agree with farming out a lot of our industry to other countries. I think we need to be creating more jobs and more opportunities and people need to be remembering to buy American, for our economy and ourselves."
After a small break from the big screen, Hendrix has a whopping nine films coming out over the next year and is looking as lush as ever… so you'll be seeing - and hearing from - Hendrix a lot more in the coming months.
Miss Hendrix knows exactly what she is talking about with regard to Lindsay Lohan. There is NO way that girl was not going to have a very treacherous journey in stardom. She has NO real parent support. Dad is a recovering (thank God) alcholic and mom is living out her childhood fantacies on the backs of her children. I just continue to hope that Lindsay will come to grips with her situation and find the path she is intended to follow. I don't think Sam Ronson has much to do with it.
She seems pretty cool. I like how she says we need to do in our country what we (The US) preaches to other countries.
Also you gotta love someone that wants to create jobs in the US, instead of outsourcing.
Regarding her animal rights views, that is something I'll have to read more about before commenting.
I can't believe she has 9 films coming out.
just another outspoken over paid spoiled jayhole giving their political views. nobody cares what you think! you play make believe for a living! stick to it! and leave the politics to the crooks!
Wow - more brilliant foreign and domestic policy analysis from a professional dancer/actress with, as far as I can tell, a high school diploma from a school for performing arts. I'm so impressed.
Major Hockstetter(from Hogan's Heroes fame) would have said: "Who is dees woman?" I will add: ...and why is she polluting my internet?
I guess ego and the lack of noteriety pushes some people to do stupid things? Not that Lindsay Lohan is any more worthwhile. Two peas in a pod that need to be planted rather than foul our airwaves.

Interesting comments about jobs and America. I wonder if she'll refuse to partake in films that are shot outside of the United States?
